Narrative framework to get the ball rolling, serves as a support for any communication strategy:
- Context: what's going on in your industry right now and relevant to your audience/customers and users you are serving
- Market positioning
- Define sub audiences here (including competitors)
- Strategy: what you're doing in response to this context, key areas of differentiation
- What is your product/technology
- Applicable use cases, if possible
- What is your business model
- Evidence: what proof is there that your strategy is working
- Traction data, including number of users (paid and non-paid)
- £m raised with top tier VCs, angel investors
- Quotes from early supporters (customers, thought leaders)
- Market expansion
- Team credentials, bios
- Vision: what does the future of your industry look like (first ideas for "opinions" for the press and thought leadership, something we can double click on later as we approach pitching)
- Bonus: A fine-tuned boilerplate that you can copy-paste for comms pitches
💖 VC Firm Narrative

💡 This is your narrative skeleton. You can start with trillions of questions that you will answer to in writing, from which you will organise your thoughts and identify key areas of differentiations. You can also use the Narrative Template. It’s not about quantity but how many good questions you can ask to build the right narrative over time. Repeat this exercice as often as possible.
